OK so I'm a teacher here and Cheers. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 1 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Raleigh about 2 years ago. The main reasons were family and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is average.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..
