Cheapest neighborhoods in Fairmount?

Alright, Been living here since 2008. Median household income is $45,163, which feels on the lower side for the area. Homes are going for about $96,700 on average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Worth the trade-offs? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Moved here from Atlanta about 10 years ago. I love the pace of life here. Still getting used to walkability but It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Miami about 14 years ago. The main reasons were family and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is solid.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
