Is Fairmount still affordable?

Hey folks, Been living here since 2017. Homes are going for about $173,400 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What are your go-to spots? Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Downtown) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
