Remote worker thinking about Fairwood CDP (Spokane County)

Hey everyone, The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. You can expect to pay around $1,191 for rent here. Homes are going for about $435,200 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Thoughts? The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I've lived in Eastside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- The dating scene scene is decent

The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- The cultural scene scene is average

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..
