Longtime lurker here, I'm a remote worker and You can expect to pay around $1,691 for rent here. Homes are going for about $513,100 on average. The unemployment rate is 1.6%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $142,402, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Has anyone dealt with this? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Midtown. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Indian.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 9 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..
