How are the schools in Florence?

I work in government and Median household income is $76,259, which feels about average for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Florence sits at 166.8 per 100K. The median home value here is around $322,600, which seems about average. Household incomes average around $76,259 in Florence. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. What are your go-to spots? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Austin about 11 years ago. The main reasons were work and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 5 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into running, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've been here 10 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in South area are solid. Kids love it here.
