The good and bad of living in Fort Morgan

Been living here since 2022. Crime rate is something to consider -Fort Morgan sits at 378.7 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 11,521 people. The median home value here is around $259,900, which seems about average. Rent is about $1,074/month for a decent place. Median household income is $59,121, which feels about average for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Pros:
- Good schools
- Close to nature
- Diverse community
- Lots of new development
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Lack of diversity
- Homelessness issues downtown
- Not enough green space
Any advice would be great. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much manageable but now it's solid.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The weather is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
