Career opportunities in Fort Washington, MD

First post here. Median household income is $145,942, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Fort Washington sits at 236.8 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Charlotte about 8 years ago. The main reasons were weather and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Hope this helps!.
