Things Fountain Hills needs to improve

Hey everyone, I'm originally from Charlotte and It's a a small town city with about 23,768 people. Homes are going for about $575,200 on average. With a population of 23,768, Fountain Hills is a small town. You can expect to pay around $1,781 for rent here. Rent is about $1,781/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Pros:
- Strong sense of community
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Not very walkable
- Limited cultural events
- Homelessness issues downtown
Should I be concerned? The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in South for 2 years. Moved from Portland for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. South schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited shopping options. Dating scene is rough. And housing market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 7/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..
