Affordable areas near Frankfort?

Anyone else feel this way? With a population of 15,536, Frankfort is a small town. Thoughts?

I've lived in Highland for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The outdoor recreation scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 15 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
