Came here for retirement and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The school system is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much developing but now it's better than expected.

I've lived in Sunset for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The nightlife scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
