Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Uptown for 8 years. Moved from Seattle for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Uptown schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Far from beaches/mountains. And housing market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 5/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Riverside for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- The outdoor recreation scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..

Bought a house here in 2017 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 3 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.
