Gerald is underrated, change my mind

Household incomes average around $56,250 in Gerald. The unemployment rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Is this normal for Gerald? TIA! It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is solid in most areas.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Charlotte about 3 years ago. The main reasons were school and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Four distinct seasons
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is solid.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Feel free to reach out with questions..
