What Germantown does better than anywhere else

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a remote worker and Rent is about $752/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. Let me know your thoughts. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 4 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Pittsburgh it's better than expected.

Came here for school and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The dating scene is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
