Unpopular opinion about Gettysburg

Hey everyone, The median home value here is around $237,000, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Thanks for reading. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- The outdoor recreation scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
