What Glens Falls North does better than anywhere else
Been meaning to ask this. Just moved here 13 months ago and Crime rate is something to consider -Glens Falls North sits at 172.2 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Worth the trade-offs?

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great sushi places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value school system, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Fairview for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- The weather scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
