We have two kids and With a population of 35,042, Golden Glades is a smaller city. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Would love some local perspective. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Moved here from Dallas about 10 years ago. I genuinely enjoy living here. Still getting used to pet-friendliness but Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The outdoor recreation scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Portland about 3 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are wild, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Good luck with whatever you decide..
