Hey everyone, I'm a remote worker and Crime rate is something to consider -Golden Glades sits at 938.2 per 100K. Poverty rate is 18.0%, which is higher than I expected. You can expect to pay around $1,444 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 35,042 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Should I be concerned? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The dating scene is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from Austin about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is decent.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Happy to answer more specific questions..
