What I wish I knew before living in Golden Glades

Hey, You can expect to pay around $1,444 for rent here. Average temperature is around 76--F, so it's warm year-round. Rent is about $1,444/month for a decent place. Median household income is $49,932, which feels on the lower side for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Anyone in a similar situation? Appreciate any input. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from San Diego about 7 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
