Hello, With a population of 5,665, Grafton is a small town. Has anyone dealt with this?

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in West area are average. Kids love it here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a writer, 35, moved here 12 years ago from Denver. I've lived in Midtown and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The safety situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for families. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Denver, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$90K here.
**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'm a lawyer and I've found the quality of life is solid. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely challenging and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Highland) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Sunset for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- The food scene scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 14 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into running, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Miami it's better than expected.
