Hello, Just moved here 15 months ago and The median home value here is around $269,800, which seems about average. It's a a small town city with about 15,967 people. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Let me know your thoughts.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in South. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in legal. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to San Diego it's excellent.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Boston about 3 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are stable, gas is better than expected.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Hope this helps!.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The food scene is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Lakewood area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.
