You can expect to pay around $1,058 for rent here. Poverty rate is 13.2%, which is around average. With a population of 11,042, Grandview is a small town. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What do you all think? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Cedar Grove. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in legal. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Southern.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
