I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Houston about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The housing market is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
