Best coffee shops in Grants?

Hi all, I work in consulting and Median household income is $49,286, which feels on the lower side for the area. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

I work in education here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is average. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Sunset. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Korean.

No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 2 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Minneapolis it's excellent.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a sales manager, 44, moved here 6 years ago from Austin. I've lived in Springfield and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Not very walkable outside downtown
3. The pet-friendliness situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Springfield: Great for couples. solid vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $50K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Uptown for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Affordable housing options
- The job market scene is average

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.
