Longtime lurker here, Rent is about $744/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 11.8%, which is around average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Is this normal for Great Bend? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up.
