Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a college student here and You can expect to pay around $2,198 for rent here. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Does this match your experience? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from New York about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is average.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Seattle it's improving.
