What to expect moving to Gypsum?

Curious what people think. I'm retired and Homes are going for about $553,600 on average. With a population of 8,481, Gypsum is a small town. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I wrong here? The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 3 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The weather is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
