I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The housing market is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from San Diego about 14 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is underrated.

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Springfield area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is pretty good in most areas.
