I'm retired and Poverty rate is 27.8%, which is higher than I expected. Average temperature is around 67--F, so the weather is moderate. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What are your go-to spots?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 9 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
