Best and worst neighborhoods in Hammond

Anyone else feel this way? My family moved here when I was a kid. Rent is about $932/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 27.8%, which is higher than I expected. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.
