Quick question about Hammond

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Median household income is $41,222, which feels on the lower side for the area. What neighborhoods would you suggest?

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Midtown area are excellent. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 7 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
