Hampton job market vs Charlotte

Hello, I work in automotive and Household incomes average around $96,322 in Hampton. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Does this match your experience?

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely improving and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Westside) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The weather is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Lakewood for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
- The outdoor recreation scene is improving

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Downtown area are tough. Kids love it here.
