Happy Valley job market vs Las Vegas
Hello, With a population of 25,572, Happy Valley is a smaller city. What are your go-to spots?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from LA about 11 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is excellent.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. No regrets on my end..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Sunset. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in retail. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 9 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like seafood.
Definitely worth checking out..
