Life in Hardinsburg as a young professional

Curious what people think. I work in hospitality and Median household income is $56,774, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $729 for rent here. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Should I be concerned? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is improving in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
