Best coffee shops in Hartford?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm originally from Indianapolis and With a population of 120K, Hartford is a mid-size city. Rent is about $1,221/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $45,300 in Hartford. It's a a mid-size city city with about 120K people. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Let me know your thoughts. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a marketing manager, 33, moved here 4 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in South and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Decent public transit for the size
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The walkability situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- South: Great for singles. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $80K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from San Diego about 12 years ago. The main reasons were school and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries

Cons that are real:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is tough.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Definitely worth checking out..
