Moving to Hartford with kids — good idea?
I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Poverty rate is 21.4%, which is higher than I expected. With a population of 120K, Hartford is a mid-size city. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Thoughts? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to.
