Cost of living reality check -Hartford

Alright, Just moved here 17 months ago and The median home value here is around $65,800, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $925/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 11.9%, which is around average. Median household income is $39,364, which feels on the lower side for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Low taxes
- Good healthcare facilities
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Lack of diversity
- Boring for young people
- Poor road conditions
- Far from major airports
It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights
- The community vibe scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Sunset for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- The outdoor recreation scene is improving

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..
