Best neighborhoods to rent in Heber Springs?

Curious what people think. My family moved here when I was a kid. You can expect to pay around $833 for rent here. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What neighborhoods would you suggest?

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Raleigh it's underrated.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The food scene is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2018 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 52, moved here 12 years ago from New York. I've lived in Eastside and East, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Property taxes are high
3. The pet-friendliness situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for young professionals. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- East: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $100K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in North area are improving. Kids love it here.

Moved here from Houston about 11 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to cost of living but It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Miami about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is underrated.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Hope this helps!.
