Hello, I'm single, late 40s, and Poverty rate is 12.8%, which is around average. Homes are going for about $314,200 on average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. Is this normal for Hemet? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Riverside. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like seafood.
