Worst things about Hernando nobody talks about

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Average temperature is around 70--F, so the weather is moderate. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely better than expected and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Sunset) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Dating scene is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Meadowbrook. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Definitely worth checking out..

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Fairview area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is improving in most areas.
