Anyone else feel this way? I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The median home value here is around $159,500, which is actually reasonable. You can expect to pay around $1,370 for rent here. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Anyone in a similar situation? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Old Town area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Old Town. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 1 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
