Moving to Hitchcock -what should I know?

With a population of 7,480, Hitchcock is a small town. Any advice would be great. Appreciate any input.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Meadowbrook. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in government. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Used to live on the South side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Downtown area are improving. Kids love it here.

Moved here from Pittsburgh about 3 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to housing market but Definitely worth checking out..
