Holly Springs is underrated, change my mind

Longtime lurker here, Median household income is $132,435, which feels pretty solid for the area. Anyone in a similar situation? Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Bought a house here in 2022 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Riverside. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in finance. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The community vibe is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Downtown for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
- The community vibe scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Fairview) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The school system is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
