I've been here for 8 years and Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. Crime rate is something to consider -Holts Summit sits at 173.4 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.
