Working remotely from Hood River

Hey everyone, I'm single, late 40s, and You can expect to pay around $1,446 for rent here. With a population of 8,360, Hood River is a small town. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Any advice would be great. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Uptown for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Close to major attractions
- The cultural scene scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.
