What to expect moving to Horn Lake?

OK so I'm single, late 20s, and The median home value here is around $158,900, which is actually reasonable. Median household income is $56,847, which feels about average for the area. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cheers. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 7 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The weather is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Old Town for 10 years. Moved from Chicago for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is decent - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Old Town schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Chain restaurants dominate. And job market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
