Hey, Been living here since 2020. The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 32,760 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 9 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The walkability is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Sunset. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
