Anyone work in healthcare in Hudson?

I grew up here but left for a while. Poverty rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Has anyone dealt with this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 7 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in The Heights for 4 years. Moved from Dallas for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited shopping options. Limited entertainment options. And traffic can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 8/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'm a software engineer and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

I work in government here and I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market for my field is average. Happy to answer more specific questions..
