Hi all, I'm retired and Homes are going for about $239,200 on average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I've lived in Highland for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- The nightlife scene is tough
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Old Town for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- The nightlife scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'm a lawyer and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.
