I work remote and chose Indianapolis specifically for the lifestyle. The food scene in Mass Ave is honestly incredible.
Property values in Lockerbie Square went up 9% last year alone. A friend just bought in Mass Ave for K and I'm not sure if that was smart.
Cost of living is slightly cheaper compared to where I came from. The airport connections are improving which matters if you travel.

My experience has been different actually. I found that The suburbs vs city debate here is real.. Maybe it depends on which part of Indianapolis you're in.

Gonna share a detailed perspective since most replies are pretty surface-level.
I'm a couple in our 30s in Fountain Square. Been here since 2022. The airport connections are {adj} which matters if you travel..
Neighborhood-wise, Fountain Square has really shifted in the past few years. Meridian-Kessler is the up-and-coming spot right now. Fishers is where I'd look if budget is a concern.
Job market for government: underrated. For nonprofit: growing.
I've never felt unsafe walking around {hood} at night.

Great question. Here's my honest take after 4 years:
The good:
- Affordable compared to coastal cities
- Friendly locals
- Pet-friendly city
The not-so-good:
- Traffic is getting worse
- Parking is a nightmare
I keep discovering new spots even after {yr} years.. I'd say for remote workers, Indianapolis is solid.
